In this new behind the scenes series, we follow the company of Burning Man: The Musical as they mount and capture the filmed version of a new musical.
Through the lens of both the creatives as well as the cast, we see what it takes to bring a new production to life while also navigating a global pandemic. Specifically, the series features five members of the company who pull back the curtain on their own individual journeys as artists, and then take us behind the scenes to dance rehearsals, wardrobe fittings, audio recording sessions, blocking, and the final capture of scenes from the film.

Danny Marin (producer)
Meet one of the producers of Burning Man: The Musical, Danny Marin. Danny shares how they first got started in the arts and how that passion opened up the door to produce for both film and stage. Then, through the producer’s lens, we get an inside look at what it takes to mount a new production under difficult circumstance.

Ari Grooves (choreographer)
Meet the choreographer of Burning Man: The Musical, Ari Grooves! Ari started dancing as a child and her passion for dance led her to a career on Broadway. In this episode, Ari takes us behind the scenes, from the rehearsal room to filming on set, showing us what it takes to bring her dynamic choreographic vision to life.

Somie Pak (costume designer)
Meet the costume designer for Burning Man: The Musical! Somie’s journey is a “very New York story” with her first costuming job stemming from a chance encounter with a producer at a piano bar. In this episode, Somie provides a masterclass, showcasing how the details in every costume can breathe life into a production.

Max Crumm (Chad )
Meet one of the stars for Burning Man: The Musical! Max’s acting career started as a child, working in the theater where their parents starred in shows. That childhood love for performing has resulted in a successful Broadway and film career. In this episode, Max reveals their process of bringing “Chad” from the page to the screen.
