A burner since 2015, Matt Werner was inspired to write Burning Man: The Musical based on stories his oldest sister would share from attending Burning Man since the late 1990s. An Oakland, California native, Matt is a graduate of UC Berkeley's English Department and the University of Edinburgh, Scotland with a Master's in English Literature. His writing has appeared Off-Broadway at venues such as The Public Theater and in publications ranging from The Huffington Post, McSweeney’s, Berkeleyside, and The Rumpus. He currently resides in Marin County, California.
